May 21, 2000 - Gas Prices.
Okay, what the hell is going on here? I filled up with gas this morning, at $1.77 per gallon, and when I passed the same gas station coming home from work, the price was at $1.82. Gas went up 5 cents in one day? What is going on here? Yeah yeah yeah, crude oil prices this and that. Bullshit. Chevron reported record profits during the first quarter of this year. Gee, the price we pay must be going up alot faster than the crude oil price. If it wasn't, how would one explain the record profits. All these damn oil compamines, they have us by the nutz you know. There are like only a few companies that really drill holes in the earth and pull out oil. All these low end gas stations buy their oil from the big guys who drill it. SO, the prices are controlled by a few companies and some turbin wearing arabs (more on them later).
Where is our beloved government with all this going on? Yeah, some rich ass fucking senator, probably has our government pay for his gas to, he don't give a shit. Where is an investigation? How can oil companies have record profits with their raw material costs supposedly going up? They are gouging us. They are too busy trying to cover up waco and fucking around with that Elian kid. They don't have any time between the bribe taking and the coke snorting to deal with the rising gas prices.
As for our Arab friends. Fuck them! If they really are cranking up prices by holding back on production, we should ignore their ass the next time Saddam goes and invades Kuwait or some other desloate shithole of a country. Our armed forces risked their lives back in 1991. Your brothers and grand sons and daughters and sisters and such in the Gulf war. Yeah, the whole Gulf war was about gas, and we all know it. If Saudia Arabia and Kuwait were sitting on a bunch of salt rather than oil, our country (and others) would not give half a shit. SO, American citizens go and risk their lives to ensure their freedom, and this is how they repay us? Shit. I think it's about time we start selling Saddam some good weapons (not those shitty Soviet and french weapons they have now) and see who takes notice. Better yet, invade the whole place, pump out all the fuel, and leave.
And where is the media in all of this. Yeah. I saw a report that gas prices are going up, but no explaination why. I can see they are going up, I do not need channel 7 news to tell me that. I am not that fucking stupid. You can't live in the chicagoland area and not drive by a million gas stations, cleaners, and video rental stores every 5 miles. I can see the prices are going up. I would like to know why.
It's not just the gas prices and their cost, but the effect rising fuel costs have on everything else. Everything in your house, or at work, at some time, was transported by a truck. That computer you are using right now at one time was on a truck or airplane. As fuel prices go up, so do the transportation costs of everything from condoms to televisions to frozen pizzas. This general rist in costs will cause a rise in prices. Stores have to charge more if they had to pay more to get those goods delivered. This rise in prices will cause the inflation, which will cause the fed to raise intrest rates, which will cause those greedy fuck-nuts on wall street to ruin the stock market, which will start the beginning of a recession. Since we have had a record economic growth over the last 7 or 9 years, imagine how hard we will fall when the economy comes back down. All the air bags in the world ain't gonna help this crash. Other effects may be shift or loss in car sales. All those big V8 SUV's are not going to sell really well when gas is $3.00 a gallon. Honda's and Geo's are gonna be pretty popular if gas gets too much higher.
Well, what can I say. Write your congessman? Vote? Stop buying gas? Fucking shit like that does not work. Personally, I do not know anyone who voted for Clinton, but he made it into office anyway. all the people in China must have voted for him.
