Yes, this system does actually have some use. We are helping mankind. The Lunatic Phringe's systems are part of the world-wide SETI @ HOME project. This webserver (when not entertaining the likes of you) is busy helping locate alien civilizations by analyzing radio telescope data. Don't believe me? Click on the picture of the solar system to the left to find out more information, and the progress of the servers. These are well over 1.4 million servers participating in this.

What is this you ask? The Lunatic Phringe started out as a Hack/Phreak BBS (1982-1984), then as a Pirate/Warez based BBS (1985-1993), and then a Chat (1993 - now). It is a place to log in, meet people, express yourself, and not be penalized for using foul language. A loosely associated group of people, with varied interests, communicating on loosely networked computers.
